Tesla Powerwall 3
Tesla recently unveiled the Tesla Powerwall 3, sparking interest worldwide. But what implications does this hold for the Australian market? Here’s a rundown of what we’ve gathered thus far.
Regarding availability in Australia, while the Powerwall 3 Beta Version has been introduced exclusively in the US market, its anticipated arrival for consumer purchase down under is projected for late 2024. However, there’s a possibility of this timeline extending into 2025, given historical trends.
One significant deviation between the Powerwall 2 and its successor, the Powerwall 3, lies in the former’s inclusion of a fully integrated solar inverter. This means that consumers won’t necessitate purchasing a separate hybrid solar inverter from established brands like SolarEdge, Sungrow, or Fronius to integrate their battery with their solar setup.
This development is advantageous for those seeking to implement a fresh solar and battery system. However, for individuals with existing solar setups, the Powerwall 3 may not be the ideal choice. Due to its integrated inverter, it’s incompatible with other solar inverters and cannot be retrofitted alongside previous Powerwall models.
For those in this situation, opting for the Powerwall 2 remains the more practical choice.

Quality Solar Systems recently installed our solar system and we couldn’t be happier. It’s a very neat installation with top quality equipment at a competitive price. The solar panels are barely visible on our low pitched roof and the Sigenergy battery is very well designed. Even the bollard looks classy (a bollard is compulsory, to protect the battery). The installation team were professional, friendly and efficient, and only took a few hours to do the installation. When done, they took the time to explain how it works and set us up with the mobile app to track system performance. The initial sales person was also excellent at explaining the options, and the operations manager was helpful and reassuring. We had to wait 3 months due to parts shortages but this was clearly communicated and once we had an install date all went smoothly. Highly recommend QSS as their name reflects their work!![]()

Disappointing experience and terrible communication I cannot recommend this company. After completely missing our scheduled solar installation date (failed to book us in despite taking a 50% deposit) and delaying my project a further month and a half, I was forced to cancel and request a refund. The communication following their mistake was slack and incompetent. I had to constantly chase their team up just to get updates on my money. I have finally received my funds back, but the entire process was an exhausting waste of time. If you don't have the time to constantly hound a company for basic service, look elsewhere.![]()

Competative pricing for top tier hardware is what drew me in. Their exceptional level of knowledge of all aspects of generating power and use of solar products and the variety of products available was important to me. They are genuine people that went well above in effort, delivery and quality of the finish. I found the team to be really friendly and enjoyed the whole experience. From the boss to sales to the install team, a conscientious commitment to getting it right was the name of the game. Im glad I chose this group to do my job and would recommend them to friends and family.![]()
